History (Click on a hyperlink for a biography of each musician) The
formation of the DarDans was the brainchild of Darden
Bourne and Dan Carlson
who, after attending a local rock concert decided to themselves "Hey, we
can do that!" "Yeah, lets form a band." So they enlisted Gregg
Watts and the DarDans were born in 1993.
Dan and Darden knew each other from work but they also both went to the
same church which is where they met Gregg. Their
first performance was October 30, 1993. At this time, the DarDans were a
three-piece ensemble utilizing the technology of the day to create
pre-programmed drums and bass guitar instrumentation.
While the equipment was primitive the guy's knew they had something great. Phil Hronas met Dan in 1996 while working at the same company. They got to talking and Dan invited Phil over to play drums with the band. They rehearsed together each week and finally asked him to join the band in April of 1997. The DarDans performed using this line-up until late 1998 when business took away Dan and Darden for about a six year period. Interesting note is that Dan and Darden continued to perform together while they were both on assignment in London and the DarDans would periodically re-unite to record music using computer technology. Dan returned from London sometime in 2003 and Darden followed in June of 2004. Blair
Barbero was introduced to Darden by a mutual friend. We were looking
to add a bassist and had auditioned a couple before Darden invited Blair over to jam with the band. Everything clicked and the line-up of musicians was
completed in April 2005 with the addition of Blair on bass guitar. Blair
"T.H.E. Machine" is also the only eligible bachelor in the band. With this new line-up, The DarDans were reinvigorated with new energy and drive to continue to write original music and play classic rock for all to enjoy.
